Soumya Rao was born in Shimoga, Karnataka on September 29, 1992. She comes from a middle-class family. Soumya attended Government Girls’ High School in Shimoga and graduated with a B. A. from Kovimpu University in Karnataka. She was interested in acting in college and high school and actively participated in dramas at the time.
Her mother and father got separated in her childhood, so she has been living with a single parent since her childhood. Unfortunately, her mother has been suffering from Cancer for the past 2 years. Moreover, Soumya married her childhood friend and lived a happy married life.
However, she struggled a lot to build her career in this field. And after all the struggle she started her career in acting with TV serials and movies. And now after a lot, she is selected for the Jabardasth new anchor for the show, and just after being selected for the show, she is continuously trending on the entire social media.
She started her career as a news reader before. Then after lots of struggle, she started in the Kannada Industry in 2018 as a serial actress Roja, and she gave an outstanding performance in that TV serial. Then she also started working in other industries too like Telugu Industry, she entered in Telugu industry with the TV serial Srimanthudu in ETV Telugu. And after impressing with her acting skills, the directors of Jabardasth gave her an opportunity.

Her favorite actor is Puneeth Kumar and her favorite actor is Sridevi. She likes Dosa very much, as it’s her favorite food. Her hobbies are acting, shopping, and traveling.
